First off: WOTW is the first fighting game I've played that has more to it than JOYSTICK=MOVE, JOYSTICK+BUTTON=ATTACK.
The computer does have a tendency to throw. A lot. I'm finding ways to work around it (honing those timing skills, staying mobile.)
I don't know what the hell one individual is talking about (1000-punch-to-death cheapness w/Dragon, potion-to-death cheapness w/Fox.) When I rapid punch/kick with Dragon, it 1) doesn't always connect (i.e. I get hit instead), 2) knocks the opponent to the ground after several connects, 3) doesn't work through a block. Same with Fox.
Why am I so attracted to Crimson Glory? :)
David, I hope you don't sound like that in reality... :)
Nobunaga scares me: Shing shing... shing (slice slice) shing shing (slice chop) shing... Nasty fatality. :) Someone translate for me "shea shea," with the "sh" sound coming from the back of the throat, I've heard it before several times. Shouldn't he be an iaidoka?
Music is good, if repetitive. (It's running through my head right now...)
Animations and other graphics are great, images are "rich." (Strong color and contrast, clear.) I love fighting on the roof against the ninja...
It's silly that people argue that graphics have little to do with gameplay, then slam WOTW for trading off animation smoothness for more variety in moves. When memory upgrades become available, it ought to be common to see games like this selecting a quality level depending upon available memory...
Konotori and his flapping noises are cool. I hear them and cannot resist grinning while he pounds on me. His boomerang fan is neat, too: I tried to evade it after throwing it, unsuccessfully...
Looks like Major Gaines had an encounter with a mad makeup artist, who went to town on his torso... I also saw him shrink himself with magic, only to be booted with a roundhouse :)
I need to know how to do Dragon's charging kick: I've done it several times, but have been unable to reproduce it.
Overall, I like the game a lot!
