1.7 Summary
Orbix is a programming environment which significantly eases the difficulties of writing distributed programs and of integrating software components into larger systems. By implementing the CORBA standard, Orbix supports a non-proprietary solution. In addition, Orbix extends the CORBA standard by making it easier to use, and by supporting advanced enhancements which ensure that sophisticated systems can be constructed.
One of the benefits of Orbix is that the core material is very easy to learn. The Orbix guides have been written so that the most frequently used features are explained in Part II, Orbix Programming.
