I previously posted about Slayer sometimes not allowing you to save a game (you can load fine, but it refuses to save again). A CompuServe post by Alexander Lee helped me to find a partial solution:
If you turn your 3DO off and on again, then choose your saved character and start a new game in a different dungeon, you can save the game (you might even be able to use the same dungeon, I didn't try since that may have had something to do with the problem). You lose your progress on the previous game, but keep your high-level character.
